This butterfly is tiny, it is only approx 2.5- 3cm in wingspan. It is pale blue with a thin black edging. The female shown right has a heavier marked edging. The underside is pale blue almost silvery white with tiny black spots.

Where to sight species

Can be found on woodland clearings and hedgrows. Can also be seen around parks and gardens.This one was spotted at the Ventnor botanic gardens.
